It was in March that she was the subject of a sudden surge in media attention when it became widely known that Schlapp was an option to replace Hope Hicks's post as director of communication. The battle has been bitter. The Schlapp's allies as well as Tony Sayegh started arguing in the media. Schlapp claimed that after she was informed that when the Washington Examiner ran a story that contained negative comments about Sayegh, she had a discussion with him.
